Al-Fateh Mosque

This stunning place of worship was constructed in 1988 and is an awe-inspiring building in the heart of Manama. As the largest mosque in Bahrain, the gorgeous architecture can hold up to 7,000 people. Throughout the mosque there is an incredible array of calligraphy created in ancient styles as well as Italian marble floors and beautiful teak doors imported from India. Tours are available in English, but there is a dress code and no photos are allowed.

Is the mosque closed to visitors on any days?
Every Friday and on important Islamic holidays, the mosque is not open to the general public. Tours are available on all other days of the year, as long as prayer is not in session. Visitors must check in at the reception desk first and remain with their guide at all times during the tour.
Are there any dress code requirements?
Since the Grand Mosque is a sacred place of worship,shorts, mini-skirts and revealing clothing are not permitted. Furthermore, all women are required to wear a special cloak that they can pick up at the reception desk. Please respect the rules during your visit.
